The beach here is long and at least 25 yds deep. It is made of coarse, pale sand and scattered pebbles (pebbles more in evidence towards the edges of resort). It Gently shelves into calm, clear waters. There is a good view of Sithonia Peninsula opposite. Sun loungers and sun umbrellas available for hire.
There area many souvenir shops selling ceramics, jewellery, leather, clothes and tourist trinkets; no real local specialities except honey. There area has a few local supermarkets. For more serious shopping, plan a day trip to Thessaloniki.
During the daytime there are beach and water-based activities, including windsurfing, water-skiing, parasailing, scuba diving and pedalloes. There is also facilities for minigolf and go-karting. Take strolls in the surrounding countryside.
The nightlife here offers music bars (including karaoke) and tavernas as well as the more stage-managed entertainments offered by larger hotels.
There area opportunities to treat the palate, with the odd pastry shop and ice-cream parlour supplementing the ubiquitous tavernas, pizza restaurants and occasional international choice.
