The Hotel was basic but very clean and very nice, especially the location. The Hotel is set around 10 or 15 metres from the lake front with amazing views of both the lake and surrounding mountains. Great destination for a relaxing, romantic holiday. Very popular resort with German tourists so some great beers to be drunk along with some weird fasion sense to look at. Limone is the most beautiful town on this amazing lake, well worth a visit

Hotel was definitely not worthy of 3*.
Room was very small and unbearably hot even though there was a fan. (This only wafted hot air). Bathroom was like going into a sauna and even floor tiles were hot.
Breakfast was minimal with stale rolls and juice that tasted of water. Evening meals were served at 6.30 - 7.00. If you didn't want this you could go after 9.00 (they would serve other people inbetween) and have just a pizza or spaghetti no starter or pudding. Could buy better pizzas for 99p here and spaghetti was packet not home made. If you went for dinner at 6.30 - 7.00 you ran the risk of getting food poisoning. Food was left out uncovered for flies and other crawlies to eat before you. No lovely Italian puddings or icecreams here.
Most guests were complaining and filling in complaint forms. When we were moved we sat next to a couple who had complained about exactly the same things 3 years previous.
Everyone was sitting out till about 12.30 1.00 am because they did not want to go back into their hot rooms. We were taking showers at 3.00am to try to cool and sleep.
Resort of Garda is lovely and everywhere else staff are helpful and friendly.
Hotel supposed to be manned 24 hours but when ourselves and talking to other guest went ot obtain water in the night no one was there. If you are thinking of going to this hotel my advise would be don't.

The Ambassador Suite Hotel is situated approx 1km (approx 15 min walk) outside of the actual town of Riva del Garda, however there are plenty of bars and shops along the route into town, so it doesn't seem far or isolated. The hotel is family owned and the accommodation and public areas are spotlessly clean, bright and tasteful.
Continental breakfast never quite suits British holiday makers, but there was plenty of fruit, bread, cold meats etc on offer. The staff were friendly, and polite at all times, and the little bar was a great meeting place in the evening for all nationalities.
Riva del Garda is a very beautiful place and the weather is varied due to its position under the mountains. The lake breezes offer respite from the sun as some days were very hot. There are plenty of restaurants and bars everywhere and you can eat out as cheaply or as expensively as you wish.
We went on 5 organised trips to Innsbruck, Venice by Night, Mantova/Sirgurta, the Dolomites and lastly a lake tour which were professionally run and the guide was excellent. Travel around the lake yourself is easy to do, using either cycle, ferry or bus and it's certainly worth visiting Malcesine, Lazise & Simoine.
I wouldn't recommend this as a family holiday unless your children enjoyed watersports and they is little else to do, however everyone else THIS PLACE IS JUST PERFECT and I will most definately be returning in the very near future.

Hotel is 50m. from lakeside on edge of Old Town. Very convenient location for town and ferries. Atmosphere was excellent especially at night but it could get a little bit noisy. Room was excellent but the hotel has a quirky lift which only goes to the second floor (we were on the third floor!)but the view from the window made up for the inconvenience.
We hired a car from the local Europcar office which was a big mistake. The guy in the office is not very helpful when things go wrong (Our car broke down three times). Don't bother with car hire - use the ferries on the Lake - they are relatively cheap and a lot less hassle than the roads.
The holiday package was very good - the Inghams reps had it just right

The hotel did not seem geared up to fully functioning at its season opening date of start of May. The staff were friendly, but the dinner service was disorganised on the first day. The food was adequate, but did not rate 4 stars. The drinks were free with meals (not discovered by us until the last day), as was free mid-afternoon tea/coffee plus biscuits (4 - 5 p.m.).
The hotel was right by the lakeside so rooms had excellent views; the ferry stopping place was only 30 yards away. The pool is unheated but is on the terrace overlooking the lake.
Small shops, bars, restaurants were all along the lakeside only a few steps from hotel; only tradespeople traffic (and local Polizia car) travel along, so outside tables offer good views across lake to hills, villages - a very attractive location.
A good regular ferry service operates to Malcesine (attractive village with small castle - well worth going in with ramparts walk, museum), and Riva, Torbole.

If you like Italian food you will love this hotel, it is 3 star but the food is worthy of 5 star, excellent, 4 choice of starters, 4 choice of main menu and an abundance of desserts.I stayed half board, and lunchtimes many tour operators brought coaches for luch beacuse the food is so wonderful. We were the only english couple there but were made so very welcome. No towels on sunbeds.
Fantastic Hotel i cannot praise it enough.
