This hotel was basic but was the perfect location in Lido. It has a lively bar and restaurant, a relatively small swimming pool and its own private section of the beach, where the loungers are free to guests. The staff were very welcoming and extremely helpful - the hotel is family run and it clearly makes all the difference. The staff take the time to speak to everyone and by the end of our holiday they were on first name terms with everyone on our tour. If we go back to Lido we won't hesitate to stop at the D'annunzio.

Lido itself is the perfect location for those who like the attraction of a beach holiday but with the possibility of seeing more of Italy. Whilst there we were able to enjoy a few days on the beach and also go on excursions to Venice, Lake Garda, Verona.

Of an evening the resort is the perfect place to sit and people watch, with plenty of outdoor bars and restaurants situated on the main promenade.

One thing to be careful of is the mosquitoes (in the resort not, thankfully, the hotel). When we went all of the people we met had been bitten - to the extent that most bars were offering insect repellent to those who chose to sit outside!!
