We did a helicopter tour through the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas and landed on the base of the Canyon for a champagne lunch.
The Canyon is truly an incredible sight and the views from the helicopter and from the base of the Canyon were breath taking.
I can't comment on doing the Canyon by coach/car/bus, but i've heard that to truly experience this sight, a helicopter ride is by far the best.

If you want to stay at the Grand Canyon, we recommend BEST WESTERN GRAND CANYON.
A great mid-priced resort hotel. All amenities that one would want, both in room and in hotel. The hotel is 3 miles south of the Grand Canyon park entrance.
The hotel is in Tusayan, it is an ample small safe town/village, to walk around in the evening. IMAX theatre a must. Only one negative report, although the Gas station is "UK style" it is also UK prices !
Finally a MUST DO regardless of cost, DO THE HELICOPTER, NOT THE PLANE, into Grand Canyon.

Stayed at this hotel as part of TRAVELSCOPES - Vegas, Grand Canyon and Hollywood trip. The hotel itself is quite dated but it is clean and comfortable, the rooms are quite big with two big ( and extremely comfortable) double beds. The bathrooms againg are standard but serve their purpose. There are plenty of eateries whether you want a good meal
( restaurant) or a quick feed like Mcdonalds. The croupiers are extremely helpful on the gaming tables for the novices like me !!!
It is also quite centrally located with a small shopping mall oposite.
The actual trip we did was very well planned but if you don`t like travelling then think again as it is very fast paced to fit in everything from the set itinery. We were lucky enough get an extremely good and helpful rep ( scott ). I hope this has helped
Thankyou xx
