As a family of 'summer campers', we were apprehensive about going camping in May this year because of our ever changing weather system.
Myself, my husband and two daughters headed off on a Monday morning (bright and early) playing the usual games: eye spy and guess our next car from the ones overtaking - great fun that one!

Having camped only in the UK and France so far, our opinions of the cleanliness of British campsites is far less than that of our companions over the pond.

However after 2.5 hours we arrived at what can be only described as the cleanest, neatest and friendliest campsite we have been to yet! Every need is catered for on site, the pitches being very private and, in the forest where we were, shaded as well.

My least favourite part of camping is lugging everything up to the shower block and still feeling grubby after your shower. Not on this occasion. Even my daughter told me the showers were lovely and smelt of bleach!

From crouquet to swimming to a pretty sandy play area for the kids, Merley Court is accessible to the beaches of Bournemouth and surrounding areas very easily.

Our kids loved the oceanarium, hair braiding on the promenade, candy floss and a fantastic trip to beaulieu Motor museum.

Of course it rained and I was cold (and boy did I let them know it), but all in all I would thoroughly recommend it to all happy campers out there!
