To all those who think Brisbane is going to come close to Sydney or Melbourne as one of the Australian Great Cities, don't bother, it is awful.

Brisbane is a built up city with High rise buildings, polution and a man made beach and lagoon siting in the middle of it all (what is all that about)!! It lacks, character, charm and obviously is trying to make an enry into the beach holiday scene with a man made beach and lagoon.

However, despite Brisbane being a poor place it does have some good local islands that are worth a day trip.
