Good

When we arrived at the Aldeia we weren't sure we had the correct hotel for what we had paid. It was too nice! Staff were helpful, room was lovely, clean and spacious. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice.Hotel was right in the centre of the strip so plenty to do.Can't believe some people were moaning about the noise. If you wanted a peaceful holiday you wouldn't pick a hotel right in the strip.

We are planning to visit again next year.

It was the first time that we visited Portugal, but it certainly won't be the last. We only went for a week as we didn't want to spend two weeks at a resort that we didn't like. We wished now that we had gone for two. The apartments were great - very clean and very spacious. We booked on the internet and were given the choice of a studio or one bedroom apartment, for the same price? We chose the one bedroom apt. and were thrilled about the size of it. The separate kitchen even had a dishwasher.

The pool isn't very big but there is a large sun terrace with plenty of sunbeds.
About 10 minutes down the road is a large Lidl Store which was very cheap.
There is about a 10 minute walk into the Old Town, down some steep steps but it is not too bad.

We found some great restaurants in the Old Town, that were very reasonable, with wonderful cooking. One of the best we tried, was Maxima restaurant at the bottom of the hill from Cerro Malpique, before you go into the main square. The are many bars in the square and in the Street of Bars, off the square with street musicians every night.

Our favourite bar, though, was Flannery's Irish Bar, in the Centro Comercial California, which is in the street that follows on from the street of bars. It's on the second floor and the owner, Michael Flannery, is a great character. I must say that we always seem drawn to Irish bars when we are away (my wife is from Dublin) and this was one of the best we have been in - so friendly. My wife couldn't get me off the pool table. This bar is well worth a visit.

This hotel was excellent. It was lovely and clean. Breakfasts were really nice, english and continental and there was always about 3 meat dishes and a fish dish to choose from at lunchtime and evening meal, as well as a vegetarian dish, and we DIDN'T have to wait for cutlery or drinks from the waiters in the evening. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Even though it was peak season, we always got a sunbed. There were sunbeds free until lunchtime at the main pool and at the small indoor pool there were always sunbeds available outside at any time of day. The pool was quite empty all the time as well, we only counted about 35 people in there at 2pm almost every day. The only downside was the entertainment which was basically rubbish and mostly in German, but it didn't really bother us anyway. The beach was lovely although the water was cold! It was a 10 minute walk along the beach to the Old Town and about 10 minutes from the front of the hotel to the strip. All the boys found plenty to do day and evening and we all had a lovely time.

Wouldn't hesitate to go back any time.

alfagar apartments were the best ive been to in portugal and only got back this morning and trying to book up again, the staff were very friendly and the barman MANUEL was really nice with everyone, the surrounds were beautiful and we went into the strip a few times for just 4 euros in a taxi, but there wasnt any need to go out the complex cause they had entertainment everynight and it was very good and not that expensive to eat or drink in the complex and really good view of the beaches from the cliffs.we ate a few times in coyote ugly bar just minutes from our apartments and it was 2euros and fifty cents for your english breakfast and just accross the road was very good chinese and the meals were beautiful and very reasonable priced for example 6 of us ate and it was 55euros, but we also bought sausages out of the supermarket and ate them a few days. i would advise people to buy a fone card for just 5euros and its well worth it,

i will be back hopefully in sept, but definetly april next year, lots of golfers stay in they apartments and have been goin there for years

When arriving at the Albufeira Jardin 1 apartments I could not belive that we would be staying there.

The whole place looked Old, dark and in need of some renovating. when we were given our keys we were also given a map of where our apartment was and just our luck it was right at the top of the big big hill. it would take about 10 min to walk to the top of the complex and with a 2 year old and a buggy it was not good, I would not reccomend this place to anyone who has children in buggys or people in wheel chairs. When we got into our apartment it just got worse, it smelt horrible, dark looked like it was done up about 100 years ago, we did not eat in one night cause the kitchen was not fit to cook food. My partner had 50 Euros stole from his wallet while we were out and I also had a new pair of sunglasses stole from the apartment.

I will not be going here again!!!

Albufeira old town its self is a really nice place, it has a lovely beach and really nice resturants it is just a shame our holiday was spoilt by our apartment.

Lovely apartments in central area of Albuferia. Easy to walk to either the Old Town or the Stripe - giving you complete choice. It is also very close to a large supermarket

Reception staff were very friendly, apartment facilities good (we had one bed apartment).

The hotel included pool - good size and underground car park.

If you are driving from the airport (we did - only takes approx 20mins) the hotel in on the left on the "watches" roundabout (ie coming in from EN125 go right at "globe" roundabout, straight on at "worms" and then left at "watches")

This was our first time in Portugal and it was allocation on arrival. When we arrived at the Alagoamar aparthotel we were pleasantly surprised to say the least, the accomodation was excellent and had every appliance you may need on a self-catering holiday.

Staff were very friendly and helpful unlike the rep! Nothing was ever too much bother.

Good central base for either visiting the Old or New Town and we will definately be going back.
