It was simply the best holiday we have ever had! Travelling from the airport was a bumpy 80 mins and at first you notice how poor the locals are in such a poor country which makes you worry a little bit about what to expect. We were going there to get married and when we arrived my wife started to cry as even just the reception to the hotel was beautiful. On arrival we were greeted graciously with freshening towels and champagne. The staff were extremely friendly and curtious and could not be more polite. The grounds were very well kept, the beach beautiful and the sea gorgeous. The wedding co-ordinator was fantastic but watch the photographers (they will definately make the most of your champagne the cheeky buggers). The all inclusive menus were varied and good quality. To see the island, just book a hotel taxi, dont bother with the tour operators as the locals ae very friendly and show you more of the very beautiful island for a quarter of the price.

All in all, we had a far better wedding and honeymoon exeriance than we could have ever possibly hoped for. We will definately be going back!

We went to the Le Prince Maurice on Mauritius to celebrate our Silver Wedding. We were told this hotel was very special and that's exactly what it was - true 5* paradise. Everything about the hotel and it's staff is so welcoming and relaxing and quiet. You won't find anything plastic here either, everything is made from natural wood, stone and thatch. Throughout the hotel you detect an air of calm and your senses are soothed by the sound of running water. The infinity pool is sheer biss and you become so relaxed as the friendly attentive staff spoil you with cooling face towels, iced lime water and chilled Evian facial sprays. The beach is beautiful and you get the same service as by the pool. The accomodation here is fabulous, all jr. suites and we can particularly recommend the ones built on stilts which give you a large deck furnished with table, chairs and loungers. Just wonderful. The food is delicious too and of the quality you would expect form this class of hotel. The floating restaurant out by the mangrove is really unusual. Great fun - especially getting there and back in the dark on a boarded walkway after one too many! All in all a idyllic paradise hotel, made extra special by the lovely friendly staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome - but without that patronising insincerty you can get in some places. Ideal for a wedding, honeymoon or that special anniversary. Our only complaint; the hotel had been told we would be celebrating our Silver Wedding during our stay and when the day came they didn't do a thing for us. We felt somewhat cheated (especially as the holiday had cost so much) and most hotels do something to help you celebrate such a special occasion. Despite that, we would love to retun. Do yourselves a favour - go there!

Our holiday was chosen by our friend who was to be married on the island and was a fantastic choice for families of all ages.

The transfer was an hour and a half (something not advised by the reps and worth bearing in mind when you are completely knackered after the 12 hour flight). We were greeted with cold towels and cheery smiles on arrival.

The hotel staff were happy and accomodating at all times and the kids club proved invaluable when you wished to avoid children taking the long and often tiring excursions. The food was buffet style at breakfast and main meal and a la carte or sandwiches at lunch. The meals were not always inspiring but for a 3 star resort was acceptable and you had the option to have packed lunches made up if you wished to be out for the day. The beauty shop received a thumbs down though and we all found alternative services in the nearby towns at a fraction of the cost. The hotel had daily visitors who diplayed their wares for guests who may opt to purchase and/or haggle and the evening entertainment was a mixture of hysterical comedy sketches and singing and dancing all laid on by the staff who encouraged all guests to join in. The evenings ended with dancing until the bar closed at midnight.

If you are a sun worshipper, you had to make a beeline for the loungers first thing as these were scarce. There was a gym which could do with modernisation but if you are a fanatic, anything will do. We did have a room change at the beginning of the holiday, but this was mainly because we did not like a ground floor room and this was changed as soon as a room became available. Our room was always very clean and towels changed daily.

I would recommend this resort to large groups or families. If you are looking for something romantic then the resort itself would not be for you but a catamaran cruise or an excursion could fill that gap!

Nice Hotel but to many restrictions on the All- Inclusive deal, food was intially perceived as good quality but over several days became bland & boring. Mainly forzen fish or meat presented with much fancy work!Had no option but to eat all meals in the formal resturant which was sometimes set menu or buffet. The AI deal did not allow you to have snacks or eat on the beach. Not much alcohol in the cocktails. In other words the AI deal was a little lacking.

Staff were very friendly / helpful. We perceived the island to be a paradise location before travel but in reality it is not, over 1.2m people live on the island and the towns are v busy and vehicles emit a lot of smoke. There is some crime on the island so lock up your valuables especially in Port Loius Don't hire a car or go on organised travel operators tours - v. expensive instead use the hotel taxis which you can book for a day for about £30 and go anywhere on the island.

This was not only a holiday - it was our honeymoon. We couldn't have picked a better place to spend 2 weeks together!

Everything was perfect. The hotel, the food, the staff, the beach, the pool, the friends we made, the weather.............I could go on and on!

The Management in this Hotel should be very proud of the majority of their staff - they certainly added to our enjoyment of the holiday.

The only disappointment was..............the 14 days came to an end.......(

We arrived in Mauritious with high expectations but upon arrival in the hotel we feared that it would be a nightmare. The staff in the hotel Berjaya Le Mourne were rude, silly (you had to explain things more than 10 times, no joke, so that they would understand what you needed) unhelpful, uncooperative. Our travel agency in Argentina had told us that that hotel would be a 4 star hotel but it was indeed a 2 star. The facilities were by no means those of a 4 star resort, i.e. you had to beg for a mosquito apparatus, we found the room dirty, the first nite I had to sleep in a bed that was worse than a prison bed, the room was full of ants and several other insects. Every time we had to complain it was a nightmare because it would literally take less time to try fix it ourselves than calling them to do their job. The quality of the food was APPALLING, there was only ONE kind of item to choose -specially at breakfast- the amenities were poor, the entertainment was rather basic if not pathetic (specially the low quality shows every evening) the equipment as well as the facilities were obsolete. They would forget to leave clean towels in the room. We spent our times stressed by complaining and being upset at the crappy place we had landed than relaxing, as it was the original idea.
