The family had a wonderful time on this beautiful oceanfront resort. They have a waterpark for the kids and Bermuda is very safe so no worries with leaving them to do their own thing. My wife and I had a spa visit for a massage for me and beauty for her. The food was consistently excellent. We went out for dinner to Henry VIII and it was terrible - we decided to stick to the hotel. They have a sushi bar with boats that go around on a river to deliver the sushi plates - good kitsch.

Anyway we had a great time. Bermuda is not cheap, but it so incredibly beautiful and friendly that it was worth every penny.

BERMUDA

Bermuda is the best country I have visited so far. All the Bermudians are very friendly and polite. The food was great and I will defintely be going back.

HOTEL

We stayed at the fairmont southampton and were so glad that my boyfriend chose the best hotel on the whole of Bermuda. We stayed room only so we could eat where ever we wanted. My favourite hotel restuarant was the italian but I didn't have one bad meal. The staff were very nice and couldn't do enough for you. The outdoor pool was nice but a little on the small side from what I expected. There is an indoor pool too but you have to pay extra if u want to use that between the hours of 9am and 6.30pm.
The room ws faboulous too. We were on the fourth floor- the higher the better. We had a view of the sea and light house and as you lay in bed you could just watch the sea and it was great. Don't stay in a moderate room though coz the view will be restricted. The bed was massive and the bathroom had twin sinks and a bath/shower.
It had a tv with good channels on like the discovery channel and bbc with cartoons for the kiddies.

There are lots of activities that the hotel run which is free and they do stuff like walks on the beach and dancing lessons. The ferry also goes to Hamiliton everyday but I thing you need lots of money to go shopping in Hamiliton. I wanted a handbag but the prices started from $200.

We had room service to our room on a few occassions and the food was brought up in a little metal trolley that turns into a table and they put a table cloth on it with flowers whihc make it look nice. The food was still warm and it was delicious.

My boyfriend proposed to me on new years eve at the champagne reception in the hotel and I obviously said "yes". This made the holiday more magical. This was the best holiday that my boyfriend could have picked.

WEATHER

I was a little worried about the weather before getting to Bermuda as it was classed as their winter. Before we even got to the hotel it started raining but it only lasted a few seconds. The sun stayed out for most of the holiday although at times it would get cloudy. It was warm in the low 20's and it stayed warm during the night. I managed to get burnt on two occassions from just being in the sun for a little while so u still need to wear suncream. The weather was perfect not too hot or cold.

BEACHES

Wow- what can I say?

The beaches are amazing. The sand is like none i've seen before. It is SO soft and it resembles talcum powder with little red coral particles in which somtimes make it look like pink sand. Our favourite beach was Horseshoe bay as it was so idyllic. There were no sun loungers but lying on the soft sand was good enough. The sea was freezing cold but we went in still as the sea was too hard to resist. The sea was turqoise clear and it wasn't even salty. The hotel beach is really nice too, the sand and sea. It's not as big as horse shoe bay but they are next to eachother if you want to go to both. The hotel beach has sunloungers and a bar.

I can't find any faults with this hotel or bermuda as it was just perfect. Anyone reading this go to fairmont southampton.
