What a great place to visit, I really enjoyed Peru. We travelled with Peruvian Secrets who were fantastic, they really looked after us especially our guide Edwin. It was lovely to not be herded on and off coaches with lots of other tourists, like most tour companies (and lots of previous holidays). The individual attention of the guides makes all the difference. We visted lots of places including Macchu Pichu, Lake Titicaca, Colca Canyons and also got the Orient Express train to Puno. All the hotels we stayed in were really nice especially the Hotel El Pardo in Lima.
There is lots to see and do in Peru and 2 weeks isn't really enough time. Take lots of camera film/memory cards as i guarantee you'll run out. Peruvian Secrets were really helpful and friendly, I gave them a budget, the amount of days and the places i wanted to visit and they put a great itinerary together for me. If you can speak a little spanish this will go a long way.
This was a once in a lifetime holiday but i'm already planning to go back again. there is lots of info on the website they don't have glossy brochures but have great info packs with a cdrom that features lots of photos, info and video clips. www peruviansecrets co uk

We were on the land of the Incas tour with the Ica and Nazca Lines extension.
This was a fabulous holiday which was very well organised with first class accommodation and transport arrangements.
When searching for this trip this was the only one we found which visited all the places we wanted to see as long as the extension was taken and that was well worth the extra time and money as we would be unlikely to return to Peru.
We had 5 internal flights but this was helped by the fact we never had to lift a case they were all booked through by the porters, guides etc making it a pleasure rather than something to endure. Our tour manager ,Anna, was excellent and very knowledgeable-the highlights for me were Lake Titicaca ,Machu pichu, the Amazon and flying over the Nazca lines. The only fault is that they use Iberia for the international flights rather than KLM and that would have made it easier when travelling from anywhere apart from London -it would have reduced the flights by 1 and saved an overnight stay in a Heathrow hotel .
I would recommend this tour to anyone over 50(the age limit with Saga)and fitness is a must as there was a lot of walking etc.The rest of the group were friendly and all appeared to be having a great time.We are going to China next year and would have gone with Saga but the itinery was not ideal for us so we are going with Jules Verne -I only hope they are as good.

| The Inca Trail is some experience, although if you do the trek by foot you'll have to cope with being a bit smelly (no showers in the andes). However, when you get there the sights and the ora that this ancient civilisation have left behind is truly amazing. I notice that the Inca Trail is theholidayexperience.com worl'ds top 20 destinations as voted for by the public. Amazed it's not in top 10!!

Peru.
I travelled to peru with my 2 friends last year, what a fantastic country. Cuzco is great and there is so much to do. We did the famous Inca trial to Macchu Picchu, a hard walk but enjoyable and it was great to get to the famous ruins earlier than the tour groups. Also recommended is the white water rafting trip and horse trekking. Cant wait to go again,
