We went to Denmark having booked online via DFDS and Novosol. The ferry to Esbjerg was a doddle and food quite superb.
Once there it was easy to find our holiday home although also popular with the Germans.

If we did it again we would go for a two-island holiday rather than notch up the miles, although I would not have missed the journey to Copenhagen for the world. The cost of 250 kroner on the bridge one way was a little expensive but what views.

Our only gripe would be the fact that our 13 year old was classed as adult at all attractions - not so very child friendly - but on the train she was a child. C'est la vie!

It was nice to see everyone obey speed limits - there are no cameras, and we never saw a policecar or police persons (except in the capital) or racing fire engines or ambulances.

Everywhere was clean, there is no grafitti, or rubbish strewn around.

Most people spoke English but our efforts in Danish/German were appreciated. Our youngest loved Legoland, which came included in the price of our holiday home. What a treat to walk to the front of the queue and insert tickets in machine.

Also enjoyed the ecotropical forest at Randers along with the safari park at Givskud where the lions walked in front of the car. I defy anyone not to like that experience.

Enjoyed our shopping in Norre Nebel and played bowls in Tarm when it rained. The bonus must be the cheap diesel and in general not as expensive for other commodities as you may have been led to believe.
