I visited Washington as part of an organised trip around Amercia and fortunately I only had 3 days in Washington!!

I cannot deny that the sights were impressive, in particular Arlington Cemetry, and that the trips organised locally such as 'Washington at night' were very good. But the tours and trips can be completed in a day and there is very little else to be done.

We had been warned by our tour organiser to be extra vigilant during our stay and to be wary of pick pockets. Unfortunately, some people on our tour still fell victim to pick pockets. Whilst there is the same risk in most cities, Washington is different and there are plenty of gangs of youths, many of whom are intimidating to even walk by. Very few people on my tour felt safe enough to go out after dark.

Fortunately, the hotel in which we stayed was excellent. I would highly recommend the hotel, it was just a shame about the location!!
