Puglia (ancient Apulia), is a land of sun, sea, vines, and olive groves. But it also has a wealth of built and cultural heritage that helps to make it one of the most exciting and unspoilt areas of Italy.
This region forms the easternmost part of the peninsula the heel of the "boot" and has a long coastline, facing the Ionian and the Adriatic Seas. Apulia is essentially a flatland with expanses, terraces and arid table-lands. The Murgia highland and the coast present impressive karst formations (grottoes and "Doline" hollows). The coasts are essentially high and, in the Gargano district, plunge steep into the sea; in other aeas, they are sandy or rocky, but usually flat.

Italy has pretty much everything a tourist could wish for. From food to art, from stunning and varied countryside to flamboyant fashion and with history and an archaelogical interest that no other European Country can boast, Italy is not surprisingly one of the most visited countries in the world.
With more than 40 Unesco World Heritage Sites, Italy has more than any other country on the planet. The great cities of Rome, Venice, Florence have dazzled its visitors for centuries, whilst Milan has embraced the business and cultural world with open arms.
Alongside Italy’s main cities, you’ll find plenty to keep you busy in the countryside. You can ski in the Alps, hike the Dolomites or dive off Sardinia’s golden coast. Adrenalin junkies can catch fireworks on Sicily’s volatile volcanoes. For many, the treasures of Italy are as simplistic as relaxing over a coffee at a streetside cafe or lingering over a long lunch in the hot Mediterranean sun.
