Mediterranean Region Information
The Mediterranean Region is named after the sea that runs adjacent to it. The region is in a strip shape with a width varying between 120 to 180 km and begins around Koycegiz in the west and extends out to Cape Basit in Hatay Province in the east. The region encompasses around 15 percent of Turkey, with a surface area of 120,000 km2. The provinces of Adana, Hatay, Antalya, Icel, Isparta, Burdur along with a large portion of Kahramanmaras, are in the Mediterranean Region.

The region, bathed in sunshine for 300 days of the year, is a paradise for sunbathing, swimming, and sports activities like wind surfing, water skiing, sailing, mountain climbing and spelunking.

Mountains sweep down to the sparkling clear sea resulting in an irregular coastline of rocky headlands and secluded coves. If you come to Antalya in March or April, you can ski in the mornings and in the afternoons swim in the warm waters of the Mediterranean.

Awaiting your discovery are important historical sites set in a landscape of pine forests, olive and citrus groves and palm, avocado and banana plantations.
