Cameroon is often referred to as "Africa in Miniature" for its geological and cultural diversity, beaches, deserts, mountains, rainforests, and savannas that typify the African continent as a whole. Getting the riches of the African continent in bite-size of a single stable country, you'd probably expect tourism in Cameroon to be booming. However, Cameroon’s tourist industry is a victim of geography. It sits in a tough region, bordered by some problematic countries. Despite this, it shouldn't put you off visiting this delightful country which has virtually none of the problems of its neighbours. Cameroon really has just about everything a traveller could wish for. Aside from its incredibly diverse landscape (which include the highest peak in W Africa, active volcano, beaches, rainforests..etc) it is also one of the most culturally diverse countries on the continent (featuring ancient tribal kingdoms, Muslim pastoralists and forest-dwelling pygmies).
