Angola is a re-emerging country after years of devastating warfare. The country has largely been untouched by foreign visitors for than 3 decades but a ceasefire in 2002 has left some travel options to this country, albeit for the extreme adventurer. Anybody visiting Angola should take extreme care outside of the capital Luanda and take guidance from up to date travel alerts from reputable travel authorities. Those that do venture outside of the capital will find Angola is a country that remains remote and undiscovered, with few observers witness to the geographic highlights and vast cultural riches that lie hidden within its borders.
For travellers, the attractions to this country are widespread. A visitor can relax on expansive beaches, experience widely untouched wildlife parks or adventure through the the ruins of Portuguese colonialism. Dense forest and powerful rivers are mixed with the sands of the Namibe desert which provide an interesting landscape and visual experience. Despite widespread poverty, political corruption and an infrastructure devastated by decades of indiscriminate fighting, Angola holds many draw cards that relatively few other countries can boast. |
