This is a modern, low-key, uncommercial and essentially characterless development measuring 2¾ mls by 1¼ mls, there is little in the way of a typical centre, just a parade of small shops at the SE end of town, close to a couple of beach snack bars.
Whilst a little characterless, the area is a great spot to explore the nearby beautiful areas, beaches and coves. Lots of Spanish have second homes here and it's busier in July and Aug, but the beach is gigantic and you'll always find a spot to yourself. Just inland is Pals itself, a pretty medieval village which is certainly worth a visit. Locality: Playa De Pals is In the very north east of the Spanish mainland, towards the north end of the Costa Brava. (2½ mls E of village of Pals. 29 mls E of Gerona; 34 mls E of Gerona's international airport. 84 mls NE of Barcelona; 93 mls NE of Barcelona's international airport). It is situated on sloping, pine-covered terrain, bounded by a rocky headland to the south and broad rice fields to the north, with Montgri Mountain in the distance. Beach and conservation area with small lagoon to the north. |
