Praia da Falésia is a 6 km sandy beach situated between the towns of Albufeira and Quarteira. There is a car park situated at the top of the cliffs overlooking the steps leading down to the beach. A day on the Praia da Falésia can seem almost lonely, even in August, as the bathers are scattered over a wide area. There are several restaurants, a playground for children and a variety of other leisure facilities.
Praia da Falesia owes its nondescript appearance to a lack of planned development. Essentially, the resort consists of a few back roads that have linked up because of the slow emergence of private complexes in the area. The main access road is lined with a small selection of restaurants, bars and shops with residential properties built above. The various complexes stand in their own grounds and tend not to mix with their residential surroundings. There is a mixture of middle- to upmarket properties, with the emphasis on sports. These offer a choice self-catering and hotel accommodation in nearly every category. Locality: This town can found 18 miles west of Faro and its international airport, and 6 miles east of Albufeira. This resort is found South-facing, on hilly terrain with pine forest leading down to beach. |
