The modern, purpose-built, cliff-top resort of Calas de Mallorca consists of a central commercial area with tall hotel buildings scattered around and is a very popular family venue with a little nightlife.
Despite its popularity the area is not for anyone seeking local colour or character because there is very little. High spots are the beaches, a cliff path which follows much of the coast and sweeping views out to sea. Locality: Calas de Mallorca is located in the middle of the E coast of Mallorca, 50 mls E of Palma and the airport. It is set on a rugged, indented part of E coastline with shallow but steep gorges descending to the sea to form small coves. These gorges impede transport and it is sometimes necessary to drive for mls in order to reach a point which is just along the coast. |
